Art

We do not believe that Art is only for the gifted or those with too much leisure. It is for everyone and children in particular. However if they are to develop the necessary artistic abilities, they will need to learn the appropriate creative, imaginative and practical skills. We therefore encourage children from the Nursery upwards to develop these skills by exposing them to a wide range of visual and tactile stimuli. Their gradually acquired competence will enable them to express ideas and feelings, to record observations, and to design and make images and artefacts using a range of tools and techniques.

Our classrooms and corridors are fitted with display boards so as to be able to show as much of the children’s art as possible. All children are greatly encouraged by seeing their work valued in this way.
